MY TIME IS MY OWN
The Busy Person's Guide To Time Management
It seems that the busier we are, the busier we get. As busy as we are, however, how often have we looked back at the end of the day wondering where the time went and why we have not reduced the size of our lists of things to do?
Time management is not a matter of having more time. It is a function of properly using what we do have. On one hand, it is nothing more than making good decisions; on the other hand, the process is not easy and requires a thoughtful plan.
We have all heard the expression that, if you want something done, you should give it to someone who is busy. Mark Dauberman is one of those individuals. He obtained his bachelor's degree, with honors, within 4 years of completing high school despite being the sole support of a wife and family, requiring him to work more than 40 hours a week at two jobs. As owner and operator of a successful entrepreneurial enterprise, he was able to simultaneously maintain a part-time university teaching position and leadership positions in several professional organizations.
Time management requires having and using the proper tools and applying them to good decision-making. It involves setting and evaluating goals and using reminders to keep us on track. Mark applies his entertaining style and incorporates his experiences to illustrate some of his traditional and less conventional approaches to time management.
